HIIIIII! I'm blogging live from the MSC Cruises, the MSC Opera. Look HERE for details on costs and routes and things. I'll be working and blogging from here until Friday. I'm reviewing the ship for you - my lovely readers, and I've brought my mom with me for company. I have full internet access, so right now I'm working from one of the many luxurious lounges, and I can hear the Salsa or Mambo instructor from the Cotton Club next door. My mom is wandering around, exploring the ship. There are seven decks with theaters, pools, lounges, restaurants, spas, gyms, hairdressers, gift shops, dance studios, casinos, coffee shops - I don't even know yet. We boarded yesterday and set sail at 18:00.
The food is luxurious and everything is Italian - the food, the wine, most of the crew members and cabin attendants. The service is unbelievable, we have a balcony cabin - I can't even talk about everything now - the pools, cocktail bars, the daily program delivered every morning. The FOOD. There is basically food available 24 hours - restaurants and buffets and room service and coffee in your cabin as you wake up. There are several seatings per meal - I'm running late this morning, so we're doing the third breakfast seating which ends at 11:45. My mom strolls past me every twenty minutes and gives me HECTIC side-eyes.
Um. Everything is amazing. Really. I thought I would be all Isabel Jones on here, but I can't complain about anything. This ship is pure luxury - everything is just decadent and luxury and I am surprised at how kid and family friendly it is. I am a bit of an OCD / crazy mother and my first thought about a ship is that my kids can't go because they will basically die. As I'm in the lounge, there's a little 2 year old girl wandering around - there are wind breaker sort of things on the main pool deck, so the kids physically CAN'T topple over. Almost everything and all the entertainment is indoors with magnificent views. There are so many clubs and activities for the kids all day - for every age group AND baby sitting of sorts. There are kiddies pools, and outside on the main pool deck, there's a whole ice cream BAR for the kids - Noah and Ben would love it. There are loads of kiddies on board and they would have made so many friends.
Here are pictures from our Sail - Away party at 18:00 yesterday. Many delicious cocktails, music, DJs and dancing. Right now I have to work as I quite enjoy having clients and an income - but at 15:00 I am slipping out to watch Barry Hilton live, then there will be more cocktails, a lunch - maybe a quick dip in the pool. Guys I have SO MUCH to tell you - and its only Tuesday. We arrive in Durban on Friday, then fly back. I am going to get home tanned, fat and happy. Cannot wait. There are treadmills on board, and my mom and I have made a pact to use the stairs at all times. There's also aerobics on the main pool deck every morning and loads of dancing. There is some band we're watching tonight, and then there's a Bollywood show in the theater later. Can't talk - must work and try see things. Chat soon. PICTURES. Oh, the last few are from our cabin balcony this morning - where we drank our coffee. It's okay - you have full permission to hate me. I totally understand.
