Today the boys were out, so we took a little trip to Paarl and Franschoek to two of my favourite little wine farms - Fairview and La Motte. My brother Paul is visiting and his good friend Kat has just moved to Cape Town, so we had a really good time catching up and tasting delicious wines and cheese.
We visited the Huguenot museum to catch up on some family history, and then got very emotional at the little graveyard next door. I can't stand being anywhere near the graves of small children and sat next to the grave of a 5 year old for the longest time. The tombstone read "Au Revoir" which means "Goodbye until we meet again." It was really sad, and I had a good moment appreciating how blessed we are with the boys and that they're in good health.
It was a good, sunny day and I have a little wine tasting headache right now, but tomorrow is going to be super busy and productive, so I'd better get some sleep. Side notes: My brother is SO HANDSOME and looking at these pictures I am having lettuce for lunch tomorrow. Goodnight friends.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos - what a lovely way to spend the day :) The grave of the little five year old really is heartbreaking, but what a beautiful word to have on a tombstone.
