This weekend our little family is off to Southern Sun's The Cullinan, right here in Cape Town. We're packing our bags & (hopefully) swimsuits for a two night stay to tell you all about SunBreaks Leisure Rates. You can stay at any (exceptions on Garden Court) Tsogo Sun hotel or resort from now until 31 January 2013 from R625 per person sharing per night. Kids under 18 (staying with parents) stay and eat breakfast - for fuh-ree. Sorry - for free. So if you go on holiday with your kids - they don't pay to sleep over or eat breakfast. I know.
So this weekend the boys and I will be your SunBreaks Cape Town Correspondents. Yes, it's a real job title. I am embarrassed to say that I have been living in Cape Town for almost five years on and off, and I have never done even half the awesome tourist things. The things that foreigners spend thousands of dollars / hours in planes / arguments with travel agents to experience, right here. For example: I have never been to Robben Island. Or done the Red Route on the City Sightseeing Bus (I did the wine route about two years ago, or was it the Blue Route?) I haven't like, been to the District Six Museum. Or the Castle of Good Hope, SA Jewish Museum and all the other things on the tour itinerary that I don't even recognize. I am the worst Capetonian ever and still have GP number plates on our car *side eyes Graeme*
So we're being treated to a proper Cape Town 'awakening' this weekend by the team over at SunBreaks. Highlights include hotel breakfasts ( I FREAKIN LOVE HOTEL BREAKFASTS WHEN THEY ASK YOU HOW YOU WANT YOUR EGGS AND GIVE YOU A TOAST BASKET) and loads of not cooking and not making beds. We're taking the ferry out to Robben Island, visiting Nelson Mandela's jail cell, a bus tour of the island... We're taking the boys to the Two Ocean's Aquarium which I know they'll love now that they're a bit older. We have a full sightseeing day planned with the City Sightseeing Bus, which the boys are going to seriously enjoy - especially since they loooove pointing out the bus in traffic, with all the cool people sitting on top with no roof. Really, they're going to freak. Other highlights include Table Mountain and leisurely lunches. I've never been to the Mount Nelson, which is on the itinerary.
You can book a stay at any Tsogo Sun hotel or resort from now until 31 January 2014 and Garden Court until end July 2013. Remember if you book more than 21 days in advance for your stay then you will save 15% on your accommodation. More information on their deals here.
