On Monday (or was it Tuesday) we took a little after-work trip to Greenpoint Park and Biodiversity Garden. I love it there. It's one of the few places where we can take the boys in Cape Town where we don't have to worry about cars, heights and general toddler hazards. We take their bikes and they have the best time riding on the broad paved roads and stopping off to drink water from the taps, pick flowers, explore gardens and look at the views. The kids play facilities are great, and there are loads of tables, benches and little picnic areas between everything else to see.
The sun is setting a little bit earlier every week (around 19:30 now) which makes me a sad mom. We love our little after-work activities which are usually the promenade in Sea Point, Newlands Forest, Deer Park, Bakoven Beach or Greenpoint Park. I'm really not ready for winter. Boys I hope that you remember this park as one of your favorites, and how you always beg us to go there. I wonder if you'll remember all of this when you're older.
One day you'll want to go to Cavendish in the evenings. To play in the arcade? Go to movies with girls? Maybe you'll want to go to Muizenburg - maybe you'll be little surfers (please don't be mall kids). Maybe you'll never want to be around us or you'll be hanging out in skate parks or you'll be locked in your rooms playing computer games with your 'cool' friends. Maybe you're already there right now as you read this, but I just wanted to tell you how special these days are too - when all you guys want to do is go to the park with mommy and daddy, and to get an ice cream cone on the way home. I love you so much.
gorgeous :)
