Madam Zingara - Theatre of Dreams, gypsies, wine and chocolate steak.

Last night I went to Madame Zingara with two of my oldest friends - Renee and Elaine. Readers from Empangeni will definitely recognise these sisters that are breathtakingly beautiful - inside & out. The evening was filled with cocktails, wine, amazing food (chocolate chilli steak people), phenomenal performances, music, threatre, costumes, dancing and of course - gypsies. I especially liked the 'chandelier girls' and the 'backflipping ninjas' although I'm sure that isn't the name of the acts.

We all went for a tarot reading with the gypsy that smoked away as she read our cards and expressed concern about our energy with enthusiasm and sometimes concern. I don't want to forget things that she said,  but they're too personal to put all over here. Everything was accurate for each of us in our perspective situations. It was such an unreal experience. She did say a lot of things to me that completely freaked me out. She said that I'm a writer and asked why I haven't finished my book, and she said that I have too much going on. She said "Imagine there's a silver plate full of food and you take everything off bit by bit and then once everything is gone - you look at the plate, and what do you see? Yourself." Isn't that beautiful? I don't want to show all the cards (there were only three) but I'd drawn myself in a current difficult situation. Then there's the man on the horse, who is not a happy man - and not coming to rescue me. Would be nice though, man-on-horse. Or horseman. *Puts on best damsel face*

A lot was said and I walked out of that room completely ready and energized for like, anything. Then we danced on stage with the rest of everyone and this mommy rabbit missed her pumpkin and got home just after midnight. I could totally feel how much older I've got since my 'party' days in my early twenties. I was yawning with my head rested on my elbow by eleven pm. It was really so nice to see friends, and to dance and play for a little bit. Thanks for organizing and booking the tickets Renee, and I'll see you girls again sooner than you think x
