The nicest thing about the rain is that it always stops. Eventually. - Eeyore

It rained and rained and rained in Cape Town this past weekend. For the first time, we didn't go anywhere. We stayed at home, still in pyjamas at midday. I baked and cooked a lot. We had many a tea party. I made the boys some honey cupcakes, which are insanely easy to put together. The recipe is from my 'Klein Kook en Geniet' book which I've had since I was like, nine years old. Obviously didn't bring the book in to work today, so I'll remember to put it up tonight. I really want my boys to make these for their young-ens some day.

I made that pepper steak pie again, and on Sunday, Graeme made a-mazing spaghetti and meatballs with napoletana sauce. Too good. Granny Annie came over for lunch, so I baked a little strawberry-marshmallow cake which the boys tucked in to at tea time again later.

I really do love cooking and baking for my family. I am a bit of a feeder. We're all victims of the 'winter spread' this year which is okay. As long as you don't weigh yourself. Until September, then it's ON. When I say on: I mean I'll be having a lettuce leaf for lunch. Daily.
