Small bits from our big little lives.

Graeme and I love Cocoa Chai Chi in Observatory. Some mornings we sneak there before work for a quick coffee and sometimes just to go over things we need to do that day.

Chicken Pie. Chop up leeks, mushrooms, onions, baby potatoes and well, chicken. Make it like a stew. Add cream. Roll out pastry and line in dish. Bake in the over for ten minutes. Take out, fill with chicken stew filling. Cover with pastry. Back in the oven until it looks like this.

That is a very handsome-looking pie, yes? I'm going to make one with peppered steak soon. Oh maybe tonight.

We got Noah these shoes last weekend at Mr Price. They have really cool shoes for boys right now.

My favorite sentence. Got these words at the Bay Harbour Market a few weeks ago. This is above my tea-making station, and the words make me feel really happy and cheerful-like

We're getting an additional cabinet from Grannie Annie, so we're moving things around right now (again). This is a home in progress

I got this at a thrift shop years and years ago. I love it so much. It's painted on to some sort of cardboard.

Noah watching Bambi on Graeme's machine. I love lazy Sundays! I remember I was doing laundry and Graeme was in the kitchen making a curry. Benjamin was napping. It was a good day of doing nothing.

A typical meal for the kids. I like to make little platters, not really meals or dishes. This was a little white cheddar, apple and chicken vienna platter with chutney dip.

We went to the Milnerton market and got that A3 yellow frame for twenty rands! Also, that glass vase next to it was five rands. Mommy loves.

Pancakes: Two cups flour. One cup milk. One cup water. Two eggs. Mix. Fry. Season. Eat.
