It was so nice / WONDERFUL to have four days with the boys and some really good family time. My mom was here from Joburg, so Noah spent a lot of time with her during the week and got spoiled like all little guys should. Graeme had to work on Friday and I had to work on Saturday. Public holidays and sick days don't really apply to freelancers or the advertising industry, but then again we knew that when we got in to it.
Seapoint Spur is my new favourite hangout. The play area is cornered off with glass / see-though walls, so you can sit right in front of the play area and eat your dinner while you're watching the kids with the childminders. For most parents of toddlers, it is UNHEARD of to be able to sit at a restaurant and actually eat your food without jumping up every so often. It was really nice. I will go back. The boys had an absolute blast and so did I to be honest.
Hout Bay market is GREAT. Muizenburg makes me happy. It's just as much fun to have an indoor Easter egg hunt as an outdoor one. I make a really good Portuguese chicken. I love making Easter breakfasts. The boys new favorite indoor activity is tea parties. I cannot watch "Hop" one more time. I will throw that DVD in the dustbin as soon as I get home. I think I gained at least seven kg from all the chocolate things these past few days. Painting your house is not as easy as it looks, but anything is better than the toffee colour that it was before. My eyes couldn't STAND it anymore, and our landlord is a really nice guy. Kalk Bay has a nice ice cream shop. Benjamin won't stop talking. Sorting out the boys' room is a task too large for a long weekend. It's really really nice having a fireplace. Cape Town is BEAUTIFUL in the rain. Oysters and champagne make a good lunch. 'Hello Again' is my new favourite clothing place. I'm pretty sure that Noah is a vegetarian. Apart from not liking meat, he would not eat his marshmallow bunny this weekend because "I can't eat something that has eyes mommy." I won't offer him 'hidden' meat again (bolognaise, ham on pizza etc).
I hope that everyone had a really nice time filled with good food, family, laughs and of course chocolate. I have so much more to say, but this week just got busy. I'm waiting on some big news, I have a BIG test this week (on Friday the thirteenth), a few deadlines AND Granny Annie is visiting us this weekend too. We are really spoiled with family lately, which is great! My dad was in Mozambique this weekend. I wanted to call him and ask how long it took to get through the border this year, and if he took the braai along like he said he would. He is so funny, and they are visiting us at the end of the month! Can you stand it? Here are some picture-memories for later. I actually have TOO MANY pictures, but this is a start. Our neighbors got this adorable bulldog, Emma. I am trying to figure out how to stage her mysterious disappearance. Will keep you posted.
