Diary of a housewife.

I could never be a little old housewife. I think. Not that housewives are old, or necessarily little. I just don't think that I could stay at home and not do anything else. Although some moms really do pull it off, I just get all lonely and sad after a few months. It's not pretty folks. HOWEVER.

Today was brilliant. I got up, packed Noah's lunch and his school bag, said little "have fun at school" goodbyes... Said hi to the nice new nanny and had a shower. I went to the hardware store, sorted out some admin, blogged, got some groceries and came home. I made dinner, got the boys bathed, played with them, hung out with my Claire over some homemade iced tea. I read the boys a nice bedtime story about Peter Rabbit that got caught in the gooseberry bush by his blue jacket's brass buttons. Then I gave the book to Noah, and he carried on 'reading' the story to Ben. They fell asleep on their own, in their OWN room. Just after EIGHT pm. TOGETHER. Hello motherhood. I have arrived.

Now it's ten pm. I'm sitting in the garden with a homemade cosmopolitan. I received some wonderful news today. I'm also pinning high hopes on a job / opportunity that my little heart is begging for. It's a job that could make me a half housewife. Working part time, on something that I love. This would leave me with some free time to focus on all my little side projects too.

In the meantime, this being at home thing is pretty awesome. I'm getting so much done, for my family... Not an employer. You know? Hello happiness.
