My family (and rabbits) in & around the house on an almost-summer's day.

This weekend really lifted my spirits. I always get a bit depressed and demotivated in winter and this year has been particularly bad. I haaaaaate being indoors all the time - we love taking the boys out on long walks, forest missions, bike rides and the beach. The cold just really ruins everything.

On Saturday it was sunny! My mom came over for the day, and then she left - friends of ours came over for a braai, then more friends and it was just perfect. The kids all playing together, watching Jurassic Park, drinking juice, eating ghost pops ; the adults all outside, having a drink, braaing meat, and the girls bustling in and out of the kitchen, checking on the kids and buttering rolls.

The boys were playing so nicely outside with their diggers, trucks, musical instruments and train sets. The bunnies were chilled, the house was full of life and I love that about summer. I love perfectly sunny days and our home filled with friends. Here are a few pictures to carry me through this last month and this cold front that's on it's way again. I'm sitting right up next to the fireplace again, feeling really sad and cold.

    1. We had to cover the grass for the rabbits. It used to be a mud path! Thanks Rina x

    1. :) The black one is a Himalayan Jersey Woolly and the white one is a pedigree Magpie - the Magpies are incredibly tame!
