All you need is this.

These Holidays were honestly the best we've had as a family. The boys are at a great age - playing together and understanding so much more about Christmas and the festivities involved. We didn't go away, we kept things local and did a lot of day trips. The holiday isn't over (three more days) but we got so much done.

Mostly, I really connected with the boys this holiday. I feel like I got to know them, the little personalities and traits that they've developed in the background of our busy lives. I spent hours just chatting to them, laying in bed and cuddling, reading books and telling stories and asking questions.

The boys are really enjoying each other. Ben has started talking in buckets and full sentences. "Mommy I want this one, Mommy where are my shoes - Mommy Noah smacked me - Mommmmyyyyyy I want juiiiiiiiiiice" He is also fully potty trained now, just a nappy at night the bright little rabbit. Noah is obviously a genius and his memory is better than mine or yours. He got a memory game for Christmas and he really honestly beat me. You know those where you flip the cards two at a time to get a match of the same picture? He is just so smart and interesting and funny. They spend hours just laughing, chatting, playing and well, fighting. It's MYYY TURRRN and It's MYYYYY juice has us feeling a bit unraveled, but other than that, they're perfect little brothers. We're finally starting to enjoy the benefits of their close age gap (Noah born 2009 and Ben born 2010)

With the boys more occupied, they're doing crazy things like putting themselves to bed and playing together all the time -hunting snails in the garden, 'reading' each other books and watching Pinnoccio and Peter Pan with running commentary. They are heartbreakingly adorable right now. I'm so glad that they have each other and that they're getting so close. We're so worried about what will happen when Noah starts school this month, and Benjamin is at home. Separating them is going to be hard.

This really was an incredible holiday filled with great food, mini adventures, day trips, hikes, beaches, boating, love, presents, new clothes (thank you Graeme and Zara), sorting and organizing our home, lazy drinks in the garden, lunches with friends and family, lazy mornings and no sense of urgency and obligations.

Miriam got back yesterday. Guys. I spent half the day cleaning the house so she wouldn't know how useless I am. I really missed the rabbits out of that woman. We all did. The boys were beyond giddy to see her yesterday and spent hours showing her all their new toys and telling her about their holiday.

I'm so excited for this year and all the opportunities that we'll create for ourselves. We go back to work on Monday, and right now - I have a sushi lunch date with the husband *grabs handbag and rushes out door*
