Educare Center and Sponsor Crush with Pampers, Avent and Freshline.

So I have to tell you about this. A few months ago, my friend Susana was on set in Gugulethu and she became very involved with the community. Susana is a blogger / radio presenter / producer / actress / social entrepreneur and we're always looking for little projects to work on together.

She discovered this Educare Center and this wonderful, local woman that is doing all sorts of community upliftment in the area. Susana rallied her team at 2OceansVibe together, and they assisted and interacted with the kids (all aged 1 to 5) on Mandela Day. I wasn't able to attend, but Susana and I both feel that our communities need help on every day of the week, not just an hour on set days.

I got in touch with my sponsors, namely Pampers, Philips Avent and Freshline Spar, and asked if they would be keen to get involved as Susana and I are popping in to Gugulethu to see the kids this week, and we'd be happy to take anything along that they would want to donate.

Well. They were just incredible. Pampers has sent ONE HUNDRED packs of nappies for this community. Some will be given to this creche, and then some to the local Church too. Can you even wrap your head around that? One hundred packs of nappies. Also, boxes and boxes of Pampers wipes.

Yesterday I got home and there were mountains of boxes waiting to be unwrapped. The nanny gave me the eye - she really does spend a lot of her time signing for packages. Maybe she suspects that we're running some sort of operation -posing as parents but actually like, smuggling koala bears after hours. Who knows. I still can't wrap my head around the level of generosity from Philips Avent. They sent sippy cups, feeding sets, bottles, newborn sets, magic cups - you don't understand. I'll post a picture at the bottom.

I told Freshline (My Spar) that Susana and I would like to take some nice lunch and treats through for the kids when we visit, and they were like "Sure, a ONE THOUSAND rand voucher is on it's way" and it arrived two days later, ready to swipe for fresh treats for the kids.

I am so overwhelmed at the level of generosity from these brands that I work with and endorse. I hope to support a different creche or project every year, and slowly but surely bring more smiley faces and alleviate pressure where we can. Sus has secured a sponsor for mattresses for the kids, which I'll update on soon.

Things that this creche needs is: Blankets and fitted sheets for the mattresses, any educational toys and books for 1 to 4 year olds, (If you have educational toys or books for slightly older kids, nothing will go to waste), they also need some general supplies, formula, baby food, baby powder, baby aqueous, etc. These are ongoing needs and so you are always encouraged to drop off supplies at the 2OceansVibe studio in Cape Town.

Susana and I will be going over to the Educare Center later this week and I'll give a nice shout out on her show this weekend. I'm taking Noah with me to the creche to hang with the kiddos too, but for now - a HUGE thank you to Pampers, Philips Avent and Freshline Spar. You are awesome.
