Mother of the year attempt number 216.

This weekend the boys and I made some amazing-tasting rusks out of my favorite South African cook book, Savour. I didn't have poppy seeds, and I didn't crush the bran flakes, but you get the general idea. Tea at my house! Nothing like fresh rusks straight from the oven I tell you.

We did some fun artsy things too. The boys made a 'Dinosaur Rainbow' painting for Daddy's Day, and they helped me make the home-made iced tea and practically waited for it to brew in the sun. I would tell you how to make it, but it's not my recipe to share (TM Annette Hayward).

I also bought the boys their first jar of Nutella, mostly because I miss my bestie Bethany so much. They went totally nuts for "choclit toast!" all weekend. Also, it is a really good idea to dip these rusks in Nutella. Don't ask me how I know that.
