Makedo and Coral Moon have got things going on.

We received a kit from Makedo yesterday and I am just in love. If I owned a hat, I would take it off to whoever came up with this concept -really. Noah and I played for so long, and even after I left the area, he still carried on without me... Completely engaged. It was so cool to watch him be all "THIS is a bird, and now I'm going to make a dog..." and getting excited and using that imagination of his. I pulled out old paper cups, paper plates and egg boxes and we made some really fun things.

Graeme was also super interested, with his mad design skills... I think we're going to try make a cool piece of something for the house.

My favorite part is that when you're done, you can just remove the connectors etc and make something brand new with the exact same materials. It's like lego, but more awesome.

The Makedo connector system encourages the use of recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic and fabric. Now all those throw-away containers can become building blocks for new fantasy creatures, make-believe playtime or role-play. Makedo tools are re-usable, affordable and include plastic lock-hinges, re-clip fasteners and a safe-saw, or you can buy kits to create elephants, cars, flowers and many more.

This is what we made with the paper cups. And some pictures of what the cool people are making. If anyone's looking for me, I'll be collecting cardboard boxes behind Pick n Pay. No really.
