I got this stunning little Playgrow Peekaboo Activity Playhouse about a week ago. How beautiful and just how clever? The design is from Gary van Heerden who is an architect by trade. The idea for the Playgrow came about after his partner asked him to make a little playhouse for her kids. Just for fun, just something to have at the house. And here we are.
The Playhouse is made from recycled cardboard, and can be flat-packed away. Perfect for indoors, great for winter. This house can be decorated with paint, wax crayons, glitter glue and stickers. It has seven windows, a door and a mailbox for hours of imaginative fun. I love that it is illustrated by Skinny laMinx. We already have a few of her designs / scatter cushions in our home. I would say that the Playgrow is suited for kids from crawling to about seven years old.
My kids love it. This house has moved between the living room and our bedroom a couple of times. You could pack it up and take it along to your next outdoor picnic too. Would be great for birthday parties. The boys and I made a proper house of it, I even put a small table and lamp inside and made a bed for them. We've had a tea party in there with their bears. They feel quite grown-up inside it. Once I unpacked it, Noah got in, opened the window, looked at me very solemnly and said "Mommy. This is MY house and (pointing outside the playhouse window) that is YOUR house." You know, when he isn't using the playhouse as a garage for his plastic bikes and such. I'm going to add curtains at some point. That is the magic about this house, it's made from durable cardboard so you really can punch holes and add things and even hang pictures inside if you really wanted to. Like laminated drawings of theirs etc.
Want one? They're three-hundred-and-fifty-rands from Playgrow. Guess
what I am getting for every kid at every birthday party this year. Oh
yes. Visit the site, and get in touch with Gary van Heerden (072 8955 888) to order yours.
