My favorite series ever made or watched by mine eyes is Modern Family. I started watching it when I was pregnant with Benjamin and it confirmed my suspicions that all (good) families are a little bit weird and awesome.
Obviously I have associated every character to people I know in real life and believe me when I say that Claire and Phil Dunphy are based on Graeme and I. No really. If you watch the series, that is us. We are also Monica and Chandler. It seems to be such a good match: 'Obsessive controlling perfectionist' meets 'Laid back, everyone loves him, awkward and silly' That is just us. Graeme laughs loudest at Phil's chirps and I hide my smug face when Claire gets one up on Phil. Our marriage isn't always healthy.
Whenever I get in to a series, I am all "Am I more a Rachel or a Monica? Am I like Mitchell or Gloria?" and he rolls his eyes and humors me. As a good husband does.
Does everyone else just love Modern Family? I don't like to watch a series while it's on air, and we don't have M-net or anything... I really love staying up until like three am watching like eight episodes in a row and being all "Just one more... " Incidentally, I am also that person that plays my new favorite song seventeen times in a row for a week like a radio station that kills it.
Here's a little bit of Modern Family. I am pretty sure that I am in love with Phil Dunphy / Graeme Bettles.
Phil Dunphy: What'cha got there?
Claire Dunphy: These are supplies for the crafts table. I finally figured out what we're gonna be making.
Phil Dunphy: Kids bored?

Luke Dunphy: I want chicken pot pie.
Phil Dunphy: And chicken.
Haley Dunphy: I want a car.
Claire Dunphy: No way!
Phil Dunphy: Done!
[Hayley, Alex, and luke all scream in excitement]
Haley Dunphy: I'm getting a car!
Phil Dunphy: Yeah! Fun, right?
Claire Dunphy: No, no, no! Phil, we cannot afford a third car.
Phil Dunphy: Relax. They're never going to last as long as us.
Claire Dunphy: Oh, honey. Don't take this the wrong way... but I have almost no faith in you.

Claire Dunphy: Are those jazz dancing shoes?
Phil Dunphy: Tightrope walking shoes. Got them on sale, only used once.
Claire Dunphy: That's not a ringing endorsement.

Phil Dunphy: Honey, you're not unlikeable.
Claire Dunphy: Thank you.
Phil Dunphy: You just seem unlikeable.

Phil Dunphy: You just seem unlikeable.
Phil Dunphy: You know when Nana DeDe comes to visit, your mom can get a little...
Haley Dunphy: Psycho?
Luke Dunphy: Angry?
Alex Dunphy: Drunk?
Phil Dunphy: All true.

Claire Dunphy: If Hannibal Lecter and Freddy Kruger had a lovechild, he would be afraid of our next door neighbor.
Phil Dunphy: I don't say bad things about people, but Mr. Kleezak is... not a nice person.
Claire Dunphy: Easy, honey.

Claire Dunphy: Easy, honey.
Phil Dunphy: Why do I have to watch a French movie? I didn't do anything wrong.
Phil Dunphy: It's just one of those things we'll never know, like what happened to the Titanic.
Claire Dunphy: It hit an iceberg.
Phil Dunphy: Maybe.

Phil Dunphy: Maybe.
