On Mother's Day I attended a Blogger's Brunch at Clay Cafe Hout Bay. It was me, Claire, Lorien, Charlotte and Coral as well as a few ladies from Good Housekeeping magazine. It was a pity that Jenna couldn't join us, but I'm going to try post some pictures from her baby shower soon!
Clay Cafe is beautiful. The kids had a great time. They have loads of paints and ceramics. You can select an item to paint, choose your colors then get to it. My favorite part is that the paint has some sort of chalk base, so it doesn't matter if the kids get the paint all over the table and themselves. It washes out of clothes too. Once you're done painting, they take the item and prep it etc. Not sure of those deets, but then you collect it about a week later, all shiny and proper. I painted four bunny egg holders, which are ADORABLE. I don't know why I didn't take a picture, but I will show you how clever I am at the end of the week when I collect. Noah painted a very sweet piggy bank, which he lost interest in when he saw the play area and gingerbread men.
Also, what I really love is that this is a winter venue too. There is a fireplace inside, and they serve a mean cup of coffee. I can see my little family there in the rainy months to come, all warm and tented in at the fireplace, painting tea sets and such. The sweet bunting and canape flags were printed from In Good Company's website. Too clever!
