Granny Annie (Graeme's mum) was here to visit this weekend. The boys got loads of winter clothes and chocolate eggs and had a great time with "Gwanny", as did we. We did loads of eating, driving and exploring around this nice town -also looking at specific areas and trying to convince Granny to move here for keeps. I'm pretty good at convincing, and so are the boys just by you know, being themselves.
This weekend we visited the Blue Bird Garage (also known as the Muizenberg night market) with Candice and her brood, which was lovely. On Saturday we did a load of driving and then the boys had a playdate with Melody in the afternoon. Us grown ups went to Kalk Bay and had lunch at the Polana. Good gosh that is my new favorite place. We had ah-may-zing seafood platters, oysters and really good wine with a spectacular view. You could lean over and touch the ocean if you really wanted to. It was too beautiful and the view was very distracting. We mingled on to The Brass Bell (my camera's battery died there, boo!) for some live music and cocktails with friends. The atmosphere there is so festive and fun. The weekend was also spent at Seapoint Spur, the beach, Obz Cafe, Builder's Warehouse, Canal Walk and in the garden. I got the boys another tea set, a kiddies stove and some play-play food. My kids play better with 'play pretend' toys than just objects if that makes sense. I buy them cars and they're like "lame".
We had a bit of a scare with Benjamin on Saturday, but I'll talk about that a little later, with safety tips should you ever find yourself in that situation. I really hope that you don't. Here are a few snaps from our weekend adventures. Yes.
