Not really. They actually walked in to a few magazines this month. Graeme's lamp is in this month's Garden and Home and is in a big feature in this month's GQ called "100 Best Things Of The Year". Raising Men got a little mention in Sunday's Rapport magazine, My Tyd in an article about blogs. We're totally famous right now. Not really. Just a little bit.
It's so nice for us to do things that we really enjoy doing like writing, designing, photography and for people to recognize it and think that you're OK at what you do. It's really nice. Writing and designing is such a PERSONAL thing I think. When there's nobody telling you what to do, that it's wrong / not good enough. When it's just you calling the shots, and you're in control. No editors, account managers, job bags, reviews... It's just you on your own some and it makes you pretty darn vulnerable. It's so rewarding. For me there is NO BIGGER compliment than someone saying "Hey you, I like the way you write sometimes". You know? This is what I love doing. For Graeme it's the same. He is over the MOON that people like his design as much as he does. So I get to brag a little bit today, and we get to give ourselves little virtual hugs in public. Yes.
