Today was such a power day. I did the usual packing of lunches, feeding of Otees.
I spent the morning working on some freelance projects, on Graeme's design things (BIG news there, will wait on final info and pictures). Then I had a really nice lunch at Hello Sailor, by myself. I love solo lunches and staring at interesting people. The one thing I almost always order is a chicken avo salad with an iced coffee. It can't be helped, and this place served the best damn salad that I have ever had, even at home, really. I kept saying this to the manager / owner behind the bar, who started looking a bit uncomfortable about it, like I was the salad police or something.
I moved on to the hardware store, which is my new favorite place in Obs. Really, hardware stores are the new stationery shops. It takes a lot for me to say that. I love a good stapler as much as the next person. I bought some wood primer, paint, wood filler, brushes, brackets, door-stoppers, sand paper, and a latch for our garden gate. I did.
I put two coats of primer on an old table, I filled the cracks with filler, sanded it down again, put another coat on. I hammered and screwed the latch on to the gate and I reinforced the table's legs with the brackets. Hell I even hammered some nails under the one leg to stabilize the table a bit. Then I pulled out some old bunting and nailed that along the edges too. The table is so so pretty. Even the nanny came out and said it looked brand new. I've had that table since I was a kid, it was our old kitchen nook table when I was little.
Noah had his first sleep over tonight. It was SUCH a mission getting them to sleep, and I've decided that I am quite happy with just two kids. Forever. I am getting so much done, work AND house AND family wise. This is all very new for me. Can you tell? It's so nice having more time with the kids. And having more time to do nice things for my family. Making every day count.
